MOMENTS — RAIN
Going out to meet the day that doesn't go to plan
Just because it rains, you don't have to call off the trip. In fact, some places are empty precisely because it's raining, and some views appear precisely because of the rain. Go out, on purpose, to meet the day that doesn't go to plan. The sound of rain on a campervan is surprisingly pleasant.

Places suited to this time
Gear that goes with it
Rain gear (jacket and pants)
An umbrella is hard to move with. A separate jacket and pants are practical.
Waterproof boots or rain shoes
Walk comfortably even on wet ground.
Plenty of towels
You use them every time you get back in. More means less stress.
Something warm to drink (in a flask)
Rainy days chill you. The comfort of having a warm sip right beside you.
Trip tips
Tourist spots are emptiest in the rain
Even popular spots are another world in the rain. You're more likely to meet a place closer to its true self.
Shelter is always right there
Unlike tent camping, back in the cabin there's a completely dry space. The strength of not being at the weather's mercy.
No outdoor campfires in the rain
On a rainy day, give up the campfire and switch to coffee or a warm meal inside. That makes for a fine enough night.
