Driving Conditions

1. Required Driver's License

• A standard passenger-vehicle driver's license (including automatic-only; a Class 1 license is acceptable)
• At least 1 year has passed since obtaining the license
• Not currently under license suspension, revocation, or a similar disposition

2. Verification on the Day

• We check the original driver's license of everyone who will drive
• We match the license photo to the person
• We confirm that the license will not expire during the rental period

3. Additional Drivers

• After your booking is confirmed, please register additional drivers' information up to 3 days before departure
• We cannot accept additional registrations from the day before onward
• Driving by an unregistered driver is a prohibited act and is not covered

4. Non-Japanese Nationals

• A valid Japanese driver's license, or an International Driving Permit (IDP) under the Geneva Convention, is required
• In some countries you may drive with that country's license plus an officially recognized translation (France, Germany, Switzerland, Taiwan, Monaco, Belgium)
• You must be within 1 year of your date of entry into Japan
• On the day, we verify the originals of the above documents and your date of entry

5. Prohibited Acts

• Drunk driving, or driving after drug use
• Driving by an unregistered driver
• Illegal acts, reckless driving, tailgating
• Taking the vehicle outside the declared area (including ferry use without prior application)

6. Measures for Violations

If a breach of the above conditions is found, coverage will not apply and the renter bears the full amount of any damage. In the case of a serious breach, the rental agreement will be terminated immediately.
